ISO 22301

ISO 22301:2019 is the second edition and current version of the international standard for business continuity management systems (BCMS), specifying requirements for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a documented system to protect against, reduce the likelihood of, and recover from disruptive incidents. The 2019 revision aligned it to the same high-level structure used by ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 9001, making it easier to run as part of an integrated management system. Any company for which downtime carries serious financial, regulatory, or safety consequences — data centers, financial services, healthcare, critical infrastructure — typically pursues certification rather than leaving continuity planning ad hoc.
